Mousse is a laboratory of investigation to develop our interests and artistic curiosity. We play to discover the relations between our languages, melting together our different forms of expression: theatre, movement, music and poetry.
Neus and Mathieu first met during a jazz meeting in Belgium (the "Jazzpuzzle"). Back there, they could discover each other thanks to a common language : the jazz standards. Then, they decided to work together and see what would come up combining their different backgrounds. After severals working sessions in Brussels and Barcelona - exploring the relations between music, theatre and dance - they decided to build a show based on a poetry.
They started writing music and finding ways to present severals poems from various artists. The basic idea was to present the poems in a musical theatre form.
Neus Martinez (1985) is a Catalan actress who combines her singing and dancing skills with the theatre. She has taken part in many different kind of shows: musical theatre, opera, theatre-danse, social theatre and children’s plays. Always trying to find a common language between the arts, she strives to create a personal way of performing, connecting the three disciplines.
Mathieu Robert (1989), is a Belgian saxophone player and composer evolving in the Belgian jazz scene. He has played and recorded with many musicians in the past few years and composed original music for his ownbands. For this project, he find himself in a more challenging setting, a duo relationship with voice, acting or dancing, asking for a well appropriate and precise way to compose and play.
